Love As A Shotgun

Have you ever really thought about how awesome of a weapon love really is? Love is like the sawed-off double barrel shotgun of emotions. Love is the nuclear bomb of emotions.

Love is power.

Love is all we need.

Love is everything.

God is Love, which means in turn that Love embodied is God.

We fight to stay alive in a world that would rather see us shambling, dead to all but the pursuits society tells us to have. We fight against becoming a zombie, shells of what we could be but consumers of what we are told should make us happy. And many of us, along the way…simply give up.

It is too hard to fight, we tell ourselves. The temptation is just too much to bear.

Except that it isn’t.

We make ourselves believe that we are actually better off just giving in and getting it over with. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Except that it wasn’t.

We have at our disposal a single thing capable of overcoming any struggle, any plot, any device that the world would try to use to break us down and zombify our lives…

…all we have to do is accept it.

And that thing is the love of God. It is our ultimate weapon in the fight against complacency. It is our saving hope amidst the hordes of the undead in our society.

And it is free for any who want it.

So the next time you feel overwhelmed, feel like the pull from those zombies is just too much for you to bear…

…don’t say i didn’t warn you. And don’t say there wasn’t a way out.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
