The Dead Reign!

Just wanted to drop a brief note to let all you Walking Dead fans out there know that this week’s episode blew the ratings out of the water! It brought in over 8 million viewers which was significantly more than it had done previously, including premiere and finale episodes.

Not only did the latest episode record the show’s highest ratings so far, it also set records in key demographics. I don’t really understand all the breakdowns on ratings demographics but what I gather from this articleon T.V. by the Numbers, it sounds like it beat the record for viewers of a “basic cable drama” in the 18-49 year old range with 5.4 million and the 25-54 range (seems like basically the same age range, anyway…) with 4.4 million. To me that means that lots of young and middle age people like The Walking Dead. I think that’s pretty awesome!

As I mentioned here, I didn’t think this was the greatest episode of the show, and now I’m kinda bummed even more, knowing that new potential viewers could have been watching, but all together this show is amazing and is doing great things to get the undead into the blood of the mainstream market!
