Zeke The Zombie Lost His Arm

Zeke The Zombie Lost His Arm

Zeke the zombie is your average kid, well aside from the part where he is undead. Being a living dead child adds some pretty unique challenges to the already crazy life of an adolescent boy. Losing limbs is only one of those added difficulties. Hopefully we will see more of Zeke as he lives his undead childhood!

This is my first shot at writing and illustrating a kid’s book. Please, please, please let me know what you think (good, bad and ugly). Hope you enjoy!

  1. Dan,

This is awesome! I love the story. And, the illustrations are perfect for the book. If you update them, don’t make them too polished. It definitely reads like a children’s story. This would make a fun “I spy” kinda book too.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

    • Thanks Alan! I really like the I-Spy idea!

  2. I love your brains.

the kids freaked when I read it to them. I think they are hiding under their beds….

  3. I think you should submit this to lulu.com or Amazon self-publish (createspace.com).

    • I haven’t looked into Lulu, but I have started working toward formatting it for createspace.com. the only problem is that it looks like I can;t get glossy pages which is much better for kids books!

I’m glad you think it’s good enough to sell!

  4. I think Lulu would be good for you if you want to publish it and sell it at events. Amazon’s Self Publish is something I don’t know about. But I know that there’s gotta be a market out there for this. I mean, it does teach children to think through a situation, even if the characters are of the undead kind. LOL. But I think teens and adults will actually like it more than kids do.

  5. Love it! As a fan of all things zombie this is becoming a favorite site.

The I Spy idea could work. Maybe it could be titled “I Sp(eye)” and you look for Zeke’s lost eye…I even see potential for a video game…

    Keep up the good work.

So glad you liked the story and are enjoying the site! I like the looking for the lost eye idea (or should i say eye-dea) as well!

Looking forward to seeing you around the site!

  6. Great stuff…loved it. Writing style reminds me of Sanda Boydton (one of my very favorite childrens authors). love the illustrations. Hope you get published. I think this would be a great hit. Aunt Midge

Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked it and I would never expect to be compared to Sandra Boynton! I’m looking into some self publishing options right now so we’ll see what happens!

  7. Awwwww! I love it!
